It's Our Place is a place-based, whole-of-community Collective Impact initiative. It is ASIT’s major initiative.
The Collective Impact initiative places the community's voice at the centre and brings together organisations and individuals from across a community to solve highly complex social problems locally. This enables and facilitates genuine collaboration and social innovation to break the cycle of disadvantage.
It's Our Place enables and incubates local social and economic initiatives, which are implemented by individuals and organisations from across the community and funded and resourced by local stakeholders.
It's Our Place work
The It's Our Place work centres around the collective development and delivery of community-designed Community Action Plans. These Action Plans capture individual and collective ideas and aspirations for positive change locally. They are co-developed by the whole community.
Once formalised, the It's Our Place team coordinates, facilitates and enables projects and initiatives to deliver Action Plan outcomes and aspirations. This is achieved with support from a broad range of community members, government agencies, non-government organisations, schools and businesses.
